i understand labour is cheap in india... but does that justify making two guys stand in the sun holding up a banner for Hindustan Times ? What happened to human ethics man !
Am sure the owner of Hindustan Times always roams around in an air-conditioned merc and curses everytime he's got to step out into the sun.

phew... had EC reviews for 2 of my products today... rejected one accepted the other... hehe.... power of god :D

fyi... EC means Engineering Complete, a stage in a software's life-cycle where-in the development of new stuff in the software/product comes to an end... all we do after this is fix bugz. in an EC review you basically ascertain if all the requirements have been met by the software.

it all came back to me today... the snow capped peaks, the chill in the wind, the sound of the avalanches all around... i was there once again. walking up that moutain, getting closer and closer... things below me getting smaller and smaller. and then i was there the blood rush, the excitement... i go crazy... i click and click.

all those peaks, they surround me... bearing down on me. and then it happens, the realisation. the mind is clear... all these fears, all these doubts i've been avoiding; they're gone.

I knew the moment had arrived
For killing the past and coming back to life

thanks arjun... anand... kamal

her secret was this:
while most people search forever for the needle, she enjoyed the hay.

(saw this on a website at work today...)

got my cooler fitted yesterday to end my miserable sleepless spell this week... and did i sleep... nothing short of an earthquake woulda woken me up from my slumber. kinda remimded me of the night after we had walked from kaithilya to khati... and man we slept through the night despite the smelly, dirty mattresses, the creaking floors... to us they were like the most comfortable beds we had ever slept on. makes you say 'life is good'... hell life was the best on the trek... there we missed the city... the food, the drink, the luxury of our homes... and sometimes even the comfort of our office chairs! and now when we are back to all this, we're missing all we had then... guess the grass is always greener on the other side.

reading 'the inscrutable american' by anurag mathur... hilarious !

i hate the fact that a cooler runs out of water and you have to get up to do something about it... any work-arounds... somebody?

its around 42-43 deg, 1am... i step into the furnace only to find the fan's out of action as the power's down... nothing i can do... i twitch and i turn all night trying to sleep... but to no avail... i get up (real) early... take a quick bath and head for the concentration camp...

arjun talks about leaving the island (where we have been marooned for what seems like ages now)... talks about heading out to explore... man i agree with him... we need to get out... otherwise this world's just gonna bury us alive... our daily lives revolve around our work... our work makes us happy... our work makes us sad... all we think of is work... all we crib about is work... we have gotten so used to this that it just seems "ok" to be the way we are... only when you head out to a glacier or drive down to the sea do you realise there's more to life than just the monotonous daily schedules.

reached chandigarh at 12.30am... much better than the 2.30am's that i manage usually... surprisingly coz i had to decrease speed once the brake pads gave way. its like murphy at its best... just when you need to get there quick... the brakes are gonna give way... anyways get home... more of an oven than anything... have a disturbed sleep coz of the heat... step into the office and around comes my smiling collegue talking about a major he's found... aaaargh !

but no... we gotta say life is good... i mean i could have been in ethiopia begging for food... duh! like is that supposed to make me feel like the luckiest soul on earth ?

packing done... am ready to make a move... yup its back to chandigarh for the week. god am i tired of these weekly drives... and come to think of it... i used to love driving on the highway... where you could just let loose... take that wee bit of a risk. now i have to climb a glacier to get the adrenalin pumpin. its been 3 weeks since i got back from sunderdunga, now i wanna go to milam, ladakh, sikkim, arunachal... the list is too long... time is limited, need to get this rollin fast !
